Show Notes: The start of the show was delayed by 4-5 minutes due to issues with Stu’s guitar/equipment. There was much humorous banter from the band during the delay. Gaia featured a Cavs drum solo over a metal vamp from the band. The segue from O.N.E. to Sleep Drifter contained a Honey tease. The River contained an Am I In Heaven? tease and a Wah Wah tease. The River was reprised during Wah Wah, which also contained a quote of The River.
Show Notes: The show opened with a brief drum solo by Cavs prior to the rest of the band taking the stage. History owner (Drake) (“Champagne Papi”) was mentioned a number of times over the course of the show. Rattlesnake contained O.N.E. and Automation quotes and teases. Ambrose crowd surfed while singing the refrain in Straws in the Wind. Joey introduced Anoxia as “my Neil Young impersonation song.” Ice V was introduced as being “in memory of Queen E.” Prior to Digital Black, Joey said "hello" numerous times in a Han-Tyumi impression. Soy-Protein Munt Machine and Vomit Coffin contained Hypertension teases. The Dripping Tap contained an I’m in Your Mind Fuzz Suite tease.
KGLW.net Staff Notes: The recordings of this show are incomplete (missing Digital Black). KGLW.net staff do have enough to confirm the > into Han-Tyumi and that Ice V came to a full stop. For the show opening drum solo, it was discussed whether this should be added to the setlist as “Fury” in order to match with the show opening drum solo from the Melbourne ‘21 bootlegger release. It was decided that the drum solos labeled “Fury” by the band consist of a distinct double bass drum part which is absent from this drum solo and that other drum solos have been given different names (i.e. “Parking” on Chunky Shrapnel), therefore it was decided to leave this drum solo as a show note since we do not have definitive information on what it should be called. If anyone has any further information about these items, or ideally, a complete or conclusive recording please contact KGLW.net staff at [email protected].

Show Notes: This show featured the live debut of Hypertension. The Reticent Raconteur and The Lord of Lightning were performed with Leah Senior providing the narration. I’m in Your Mind contained Cellophane teases. Cellophane contained Alter Me teases and quotes. Self-Immolate featured a Cavs drum solo which led into a brief metal vamp and ultimately returned to Self-Immolate. Rattlesnake contained Automation and Nuclear Fusion teases. Float Along - Fill Your Lungs contained a metal jam.
Show Notes: The show began with a drum solo leading into Venusian 2. Before Predator X, an “Asheville Gatherum” shirt was thrown on stage, and Stu changed into it. Slow Jam 1 contained Ice V and Magenta Mountain teases. Magenta Mountain was dedicated to Robert “Bob” Moog, inventor of the Moog synthesizer. Nuclear Fusion featured Lucas on the intro vocal. Another t-shirt was thrown up on stage after Iron Lung; Stu thanked everyone for the t-shirts noting that “I fucking stink like shit so it’s perfect.” After Stu declared that “showers are for squares,” Ambrose then suggested that Stu had never had a shower in his life, “only golden ones.” Wah Wah contained a The River intro, as well as teases and quotes. The Dripping Tap contained The Land Before Timeland teases.
Show Notes: It was announced prior to the show that Stu was late to the stage because he had “diarrhea or something”. Stu then entered the stage costumed as “Disco Stu” and noted that it was his birthday show. After Hell, Stu teased "Stayin' Alive" (Bee Gees). Persistence was stopped partway through for a cake “being fucked by a sexy alien” to be presented to Stu, and for the crowd and band to sing “Happy Birthday to You” to Stu, after which Stu passed out the cake to the audience and several jokes were made about the cake's contents. Persistence was finished after the mid-song break. The River contained Wah Wah teases and an Ice V tease. Leah Senior was shouted out before Lava. At the end of the show, Stu was hit with silly string by the band while the audience sang to him again.
KGLW.net Staff Notes: Fans of stage banter will want to listen to this show for humorous birthday comments throughout the show, and other amusing banter about being drunk and the Satanic nuns that often appear at their shows.
Show Notes: Evil Death Roll did not include the Invisible Face section and instead featured a Hypertension-esque jam (see below). The intro to Ambergris featured musical banter regarding a “big-ass beer”. Leah Senior was shouted out prior to Crumbling Castle.
KGLW.net Staff Notes: There was a good deal of discussion about whether the jam in Evil Death Roll constituted a Hypertension tease or was merely suggesting a variation on Hypertension through Stu’s playing. We decided that this example did not qualify as a “tease”, “quote”, or full “jam.” Rather than expand our lexicon to include “motif” or “theme,” we opted to simply mention and qualify it in the setlist notes.
Show Notes: Hot Wax was announced as a dedication to Joe Santarpia, one of the band's sound engineers. Hot Wax was played for the first time since 2022-04-28 (50 show gap). I’m Not in Your Mind contained Alter Me teases and quotes. Cellophane contained Am I in Heaven? teases and Hot Wax quotes. Ambergris was introduced as a song about “the most expensive ingredient in modern humanity.” Iron Lung featured an extended Red Hot Chili Peppers style intro while Lucas was using the restroom, followed by additional mid-song banter about Lucas. A New World through Altered Beast II featured Leah Senior providing the narration.
Show Notes: Rattlesnake contained Sleep Drifter teases. The outro to Sleep Drifter contained Honey quotes before returning to the earlier Rattlesnake jam. Before Pleura, the band shouted out The Murlocs (with Cavs filling in on drums) for killing it prior to their set. Before Gaia, it was noted that Fishing for Fishies had been recorded by Gareth Liddiard of Tropical Fuck Storm. Gaia featured a Cavs drum solo over a metal vamp from the band. Before The Dripping Tap, Joey again shouted out The Murlocs, Leah Senior, and “Tropical Fuck Cunts”.
KGLW.net Staff Notes: For those wondering about the nature of the show-opening Rattlesnake sequence, the band is jamming on Rattlesnake themes before an immediate and natural transition to Honey, which is immediately followed by a segue into Sleep Drifter that contains elements of Honey all the way through, and finally a return to the bridge and “Rattle, rattle, rattle” portion of the preceding Rattlesnake jam, thus completing the “Snake Sandwich”.
Show Notes: “Theme from Halloween” was played over the PA prior to the costumed band members walking on stage to a song played over the PA: "P.I.M.P" (50 Cent) for Ambrose, dressed as a pimp, "Mother" (Danzig) for Cavs, dressed as Glenn Danzig, "You've Got a Friend in Me" (Randy Newman) for Lucas, dressed as Buzz Lightyear, ""C" is for Cookie" (Sesame Street) for Cook, dressed as a cookie, with him throwing cookies into the crowd, "Oompa Loompa (#1)" (Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory) for Joey, dressed as an Oompa Loompa, and "Hollaback Girl" (Gwen Stefani) for Stu, dressed as a banana and throwing bananas into the crowd. Additionally, crew for the show were dressed as ketchup and mustard bottles. Robot Stop contained a Hot Water tease. Alter Me was teased during the intro to People-Vultures. Mr. Beat contained a Persistence tease. Before Alter Me II, there was an extended discussion about bananas. Alter Me II through Altered Beast IV were performed with Leah Senior (dressed as a witch) providing the narration. The verses were sung out of order in Altered Beast IV. Stu removed the banana costume prior to Self-Immolate and threw it into the crowd, citing that it was “too hot”. Before Doom City, Stu denied a fan request for Catching Smoke saying that they didn’t know how to play it. Magenta Mountain featured a lyric change to reference Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Gaia featured a Cavs drum solo over a metal vamp from the band in which Ambrose destroyed pumpkins that were on stage and threw the pieces into the crows.
Show Notes: Vomit Coffin featured the now-infamous “Amby Snot Rocket”. Blame It on the Weather was humorously announced as the “complete opposite style of music” to the show-opening Murder of the Universe suite. Cut Throat Boogie was announced as a song about Ambrose getting stabbed in the neck with a broken bottle. Wah Wah began with the intro to The River and subsequently featured The River quotes and teases, as well as a jam. Sadie Sorceress featured an additional verse from The Grim Reaper played over the music to Sadie Sorceress. Joey requested the cameraperson zoom in to his face as close as possible during the intro to Self-Immolate and introduced Cavs as “John Henry Bonham”, followed by a drum solo and a “Moby Dick” (Led Zeppelin) tease, plus an additional brief drum solo and “Moby Dick” tease at the end of the song. Before Her and I (Slow Jam 2), the weather was discussed and the band’s ignorance regarding Fahrenheit to Celsius conversions was revealed. The song itself featured a Flamethrower jam, Slow Jam 1 and Magma teases, and a brief Cut Throat Boogie jam. Hot Wax was dedicated to one of the band's sound engineers, Joe Santarpia. Timeland was played over the PA as the setbreak music. Head On/Pill opened with “The Star-Spangled Banner” intro, contained Hypertension teases and a Witchcraft tease, and was unfinished leading into Am I in Heaven?. Venusian 1 closed with a Cavs drum solo which led into Venusian 2. Ambrose introduced Billabong Valley as being about a bushranger and is interrupted by Joey calling him “mad-cunt Morgan”. Let Me Mend the Past was announced as a song about Ambrose’s somewhat troubled upbringing and was dedicated to Edith, Ambrose’s sister. Alter Me III and Altered Beast IV were performed with Leah Senior providing the narration. Float Along - Fill Your Lungs contained a metal jam. Tetrachromacy and Hypertension were on the printed setlist but cut due to time constraints.
Show Notes: The band introduced the show by acknowledging how little they play hometown shows, citing Melbourne inner-city gentrification. Crumbling Castle was then introduced as “The Fourth Colour”, “Crumbling Castle”, and finally, “Gamma Knife”. The Fourth Colour featured a Cavs drum solo. The Grim Reaper was introduced as a song that Ambrose wrote about Stu, and featured an additional verse and quotes from Sadie Sorceress played over the music to The Grim Reaper. Stu sang the third verse twice instead of the second verse in Ice V. Iron Lung was introduced as a “song about vaping”. Ambergris was introduced as a song about “the most expensive naturally occurring ingredient”. Float Along - Fill Your Lungs contained a metal jam.
Show Notes: This show was part of the 2022 Summer Haze Festival. Gaia featured a Cavs drum solo over the top of a metal vamp from the band. Ice V contained Hypertension teases. Stu threw water bottles into the crowd during Hot Water. Amusing banter before The Dripping Tap referenced the heat, sweating, church, God, Satan, weed, and vaping. The Dripping Tap subsequently contained Hypertension teases and quotes.
KGLW.net Staff Notes: The recording for this show is incomplete (missing Hypertension). Despite the incomplete recording, KGLW.net staff supports the -> transition from Ice V -> Hypertension based on available audio evidence of the start of the transition near the end of Ice V. If anyone has any further information or, ideally, a complete or conclusive recording please contact KGLW.net staff at [email protected].
Show Notes: This show was part of the 2022 Rhythm & Alps Festival. “The End” (The Doors) was briefly quoted after The Fourth Colour. Am I in Heaven? contained Head On/Pill and The Dripping Tap teases. Amusing banter followed Am I in Heaven? where the band talked about their New Year’s resolutions. Gaia featured a Cavs drum solo, during which Stu and Joey sprayed the crowd with champagne, followed by a full band “Moby Dick” (Led Zeppelin) tease. Boogieman Sam contained “My Babe” (Little Walter) and “Going Up the Country” (Canned Heat) quotes. Some other artists appearing at this festival were specifically shouted out by Joey: Marlon Williams, Sampa the Great, and Dope Lemon.
