“Space Junk” is the first hidden track from the standard vinyl release of The Silver Cord and the only one on the album’s first side. The songs were originally found in the ASCAP ACE Repertory, which lists every band member as a writer. The track’s name is noted in the matrix number on the album’s dead wax. The song is an instrumental centered on an arpeggiated synth that is expanded into a rave-like jam with stylistic similarities to “Swan Song”. In the band’s 2023 Reddit AMA, Stu said the bonus songs were made when experimenting with the sound for The Silver Cord. “Space Junk” is the longest of the bonus tracks on the album.

“Space Junk” has never been played live.
