In an attempt to reconnect with his forgotten humanity, Han-Tyumi decides to create the Soy-Protein Munt Machine, a cyborg made with the sole purpose of vomiting and dying. The shortest track in the Han-Tyumi suite takes its title from the machine, though it was initially conceived as “Jam In A” according to a whiteboard scribble. It’s used to lead into “Vomit Coffin” with the riff from “Han-Tyumi, the Confused Cyborg” in a different key. It was released on Murder of the Universe on June 23rd, 2017 and briefly appeared in a promotional video for the album.
The song appears in Jason Galea’s music video for “Han-Tyumi and the Murder of the Universe” released on April 11th, 2017. It follows the format of “Han-Tyumi, the Confused Cyborg” with text presented over various backgrounds.
While most of “Han-Tyumi and the Murder of the Universe” was played from 2017 to 2019, “Soy Protein Munt Machine” was the last to debut, with a first appearance on 2022-03-05 for The Return of the Curse of Timeland festival in Naarm (Melbourne). The song appeared as part of a (nearly) complete performance of the suite and would solely be played in this configuration. This makes “Soy Protein Munt Machine” the least played track of the Han-Tyumi suite.
