Songs > Oh God > History

“Oh God” is an unreleased song written by Stu, a mid-tempo, ominous track with a prominent rhythm section, almost bringing to mind the U2 song “Bullet The Blue Sky.” Its lyrics are repetitive and simple, touching on the topic of religion similar to “Crookedile” from Willoughby’s Beach. It was added to the ASCAP ACE Repertory alongside Gizzard’s early singles/Anglesea before the release of Float Along — Fill Your Lungs in 2013.

We know that the song was played a few times. The first confirmed performance of the song was on 2010-10-20 at the Kaleide Theatre at RMIT University in Naarm (Melbourne). A tape of this show is the only recording of the track currently available to fans. The setlist for 2010-11-25 (the “Sleep/Summer!” release party) also has the song listed.
