Songs > Life/Death > History

After losing their passion for cruelty by exchanging their humanity, the Altered Beast dies — soundtracked by spooky synthesizer parts in a 9/8 rhythm. The title is arguably referenced in “Murder of the Universe.” While most of the songs from Murder of the Universe were written out on the band’s studio whiteboard at Flightless HQ, “Life/Death” was missing from the Altered Beast suite. It was released on June 23rd, 2017. A music video for “The Tale of the Altered Beast” was planned but never finished with footage making its way into promotional material and A BRIEF HISTORY OF PLANET EARTH.

“Life/Death” has never been played live. This makes it the only song from “The Tale of the Altered Beast” that hasn’t been performed on stage.
