Songs > Bone > History

“Bone” is a short and simple acoustic track with an instantly recognizable main riff and lyrics that discuss what will be left when we all die: a pile of bones. The entire song describes the decay of the physical body and how it’ll end up digested by animals and insects, but also reflects on how we may leave that physicality behind for the afterlife, although this only prompts more questions. The song was released as the second track of Paper Mâché Dream Balloon on November 13th, 2015 and featured in a promotional video for the “bootleg” styled pressings of the album on the 20th. It was later put out as a single on February 12th, 2016. An instrumental version with a longer outro was released as part of the deluxe edition of Paper Mâché Dream Balloon on October 29th, 2021.

“Bone” has not been played live.
