Appearing at the end of Chunky Shrapnel, “A Brief History of Planet Earth” is a nineteen-minute celebration of the band’s jams from their 2019 European tour, featuring Flightless-signed bands Stonefield and ORB.

“A Brief History of Planet Earth” was the original title for Murder of the Universe, and would be used for a behind the scenes video documenting that album’s creation before winding up on Chunky Shrapnel. The track starts with an original composition and leads to a combination of various live performances from 2019. The songs included are “Rattlesnake” from 2019-10-05 (0:46 — 1:43), “Head On/Pill” from 2019-10-19 (1:43 — 2:32 and 5:59 — 19:03), Stu’s flute playing in “Head On/Pill” from 2019-10-12 (2:31 — 4:22), and another “Head On/Pill” from 2019-10-07 (4:22 — 5:59).
