Perhaps the most simply and downright fun concert they've played so far, and a quintessentially Amby show. The unusual rendition of Supreme Ascendancy, the unleashed harmonica of Cut Throat Boogie (which practically merges with Daily Blues, making you doubt if they were ever two separate songs, despite being more than a decade apart), and, above all, the now-historic The Grim Reaper, born from the bowels of the most psychedelic Magenta Mountain of all time, reaching heights of live intensity worthy of legend. The most powerful and polished Le Risque I've ever heard, and a journey through Antarctica that ends with Balrogs and thunder gods appearing. Do I need to say more?

The concert that left me in tears when silence fell, amidst the human meat grinder that the pit became during its merciless second half. One of those nights in danger of extinction in which every single song on the setlist reached its best live version to date (the only ones open to doubt were Magma and Witchcraft, not being paired with Converge). The Mind Fuzz Suite could be the best 20 minutes they've ever played; topped off, moreover, with a Gila Monster of total communion, with Joey's "FREE, FREE PALESTINE" as the icing on the cake. For now, this is the date against which all the others on the European tour will be compared.

Destined to be the most underrated date of the residency (due, in part, to the sound issues we experienced live during the first few songs), it kicks off with two of their most popular, which spearhead more than three-quarters of an hour of uninterrupted music, in which the euphoria only grows. The electronic sequence, which would have been the highlight of the concert if it weren't for the knowledge of what was to come the following two days, gives way to one of the heaviest second halfs they've played, with memorable Billabong Valley and The Great Chain of Being, and culminating with the best performance of Motor Spirit to date. The "weak" night in Barcelona.
