The phrase “T.V. eye”, coined by guitarist Ron Asheton’s sister Kathy, is an acronym for “twat vibe eye.” To put it into context, if a man was staring at a woman he was interested in, one could say he’s “looking at her with his T.V. eye.” The song’s title would later be used as the title of an Iggy Pop live album.
