The word ataraxia describes a state of tranquility freed from trouble or stress. The song “Ataraxia” is led by Joey and features a number of strange time signatures and polymeters. It is the only song on L.W. to feature a sole songwriting credit for Joey. The song is a lament about his self-doubt and diffidence being a barrier to inner peace; he tries his best to achieve it anyway by lowering the bar and brute-forcing it. “Ataraxia” was played by Cavs (drums), Joey (vocals/guitar/bass/percussion/Elektron Digitakt) and Stu (guitar/organ/sitar/pungi/flute/bağlama), recorded by Cavs and Stu and mixed solely by Joey. It is briefly joked about at the beginning of KG LW MIX SESH. It was released on February 26th, 2021.

The song made its live debut on 2021-02-23 at the Croxton Park Hotel in Naarm (Melbourne) and was played one other time before the release of L.W.. It was played six times total throughout 2021 as part of the band’s microtonal shows. It returned a handful of times in the following years during the microtonal segments, although the number of performances has decreased as the years have gone on.
