It's no secret we love beauty here in LA.
It’s in our nature to articulate the light on our tiled floors, the sound of palm leaves at night, and the time that we never seem to notice passing by. Our drive home is not a commute but a pilgrimage. We proudly declare we live by the beach, in the 818, the Hills or the Eastside. Bound by freeways and divided by canyons, what we can agree on is that we are all Angelenos: and lately, the city that sleeps so much has never seen so many angels.
This compilation invokes the type of home we all need - a place of healing. The sound of parrots flying overhead, the 101 at rush hour, a fruit vendor on Sunset Blvd: this is our city. Those sounds beat within us. Let this album be a source of familiarity and hope that only a home can bring. Let us carry it with us, and see it in each other, at the edge of the sand. It is a thing of beauty.
A 'super bloom' refers to the stunning reveal of orange and red poppies, paper thin against the dark hillsides of our mountains after a long winter or particularly blackened earth. Without the burn, the vibrancy wouldn’t be so superb. It acts as a reminder: we will grow from this, and so much more splendidly.
