I knew the band from back in their early days on Australian Radio, and heard I'm In Your Mind, Polygondwanaland, Nonagon Infinity on the radio. Just your ususal "Robot Stop" and "Hot Water" plus "Rattlesnake". At some point the band turned into heavy metal. 

I brought along two normie mates. And after a long day at the cricket moral was low to be sure. Straight away I noticed a Dead Shirt. Fuck I shoulda warn my. We had walked from the Gabba after crushing the Poms on day four, a 45 minute stroll. We got into the venue at the end of the setup and stood near the back. My mate who seemed the least into it went wandering around and went people watching. My other mate was dead tired. The band kicked off with a couple of microtonal jams. I told my mate that if they were tired, it'd be okay it had been a very long day. After about 30 minutes they turned to me and said "This is the best gig I've ever seen in my life the only reason i'd leave is if I die." My other mate started dancing. The mate that went people watching reported that lefthand side balcony was "like a hotbox."

I had seen some of the streams and knew some of the heavier material through osmosis, but I hadn't listed to any of it indipendantly of the odd stream and it ruled it was so good. An early hit was definatel Converge, I was like "This song fucking rules, I know this one!". 

Kick Flip Guy of course stole the show. They did an extended jam on Am I In Heaven that live seemed to last 3 minutes. 

The Inner Cell run was incredible and finishing with some old school Gamma Knife/People Vultures was pleasing. The only downside is I wasn't as familar with Inner Cell so when they played it I knew I'd heard it but didn't appreciate it enough.

Was I dissapointed that they didn't play any of my favorite songs? Of course. But that's what the rest of my life is for. I've now started listening to everything and i'm going to catch them any time I can get. Let's hope they Tour Australia and I can see them 3 nights in a row in Brisbane. 

Maybe then I'll see The Fourth Color. 

The whole night the vibes were great. No Dickheads, everyone having a good time, two normies enjoyed themselves. Grabbed a T-shirt for 50 bucks.
