Background
When Field of Vision was first announced in 2025 the KGLW.net team was super excited to see King Gizzard host a festival in the US. At one of the monthly team meetings an idea to create a zine (a small magazine) to give away at Field of Vision was brought up. The KGLW.net team had done similar things in the past in the form of tour guides and felt this project aligned with the goals and interests of the team. A substantial amount of effort and collaboration was put into the first zine and time constraints meant some of the more grandiose ideas had to be left undone. The “editor” of the zine was KGLW.net user, DanRock, and he had an amazing time walking around and handing out zines to festival attendees. It was his pleasure to meet so many amazing people.
Field of Vision 2026
When Field of Vision 2026 was announced the KGLW.net team, especially DanRock, thought that making another zine for Field of Vision made sense. This time the more grandiose ideas that DanRock had concocted would come to life. DanRock was stubborn and wanted to incorporate King Gizz madlibs. The formatting of the madlibs was a challenge so he relied on his background in Mathematics and used the sophisticated, and cryptic, typesetting language of LaTeX (pronounced Lah-Tek) to do the page layout of the 2026 Field of Vision Zine. DanRock also created the word searches. KGLW.net user TimeLandIsWacky was the primary author for the artist bios and KGLW.net background information.
The most exciting addition to the 2026 zine was printing the cover art in 3 colors using a Risograph machine (a machine that is sort of a mix between screen printing and a photocopier). The result was a beautiful set of ~100 zines that have the color cover art. The rest of the zines printed had the black and white cover art.

Etran de L'Aïr:
We’d like to take a moment to recognize Etran de L'Aïr, who were set to perform at this year’s festival but had to cancel their entire US tour due to Trump’s travel ban which blocked the Nigerien band from entering the United States. Bands make a majority of their money touring these days, meaning tour cancellations like this are always hard, especially for smaller artists. If you appreciate their music we encourage you to donate to the band (this gives 100% of the proceeds to them) and buy their music and merchandise as directly as possible.
Etran de L’Aïr started in the mid-’90s as a wedding band in Abalane, Agadez, often playing free shows wherever they could. The family band was picked up by Sahel Sounds and released their first album No. 1 in 2018. Since then they released two more albums and have toured across the world. They recently toured with King Gizzard as part of the 2025 European Residency tour, appearing in Portugal and Spain.
