This show was billed as Return of the Curse of Timeland (a rescheduling of their cancelled 2021 New Year's Eve Timeland Festival) and featured the debuts of Magenta Mountain, The Garden Goblin, The Dripping Tap, and Soy-Protein Munt Machine. Timeland was played over the PA as the pre-show music. A model of London’s Big Ben clock tower, approximately 20 ft (6 m) tall, with the words “Time is Ephemeral” and “Music is Ephemeral” written on the clock’s face was erected in the back right corner of the stage. The clock hands ran forward at an accelerated pace throughout the show. Am I in Heaven? contained Rattlesnake teases and Boogieman Sam quotes/teases. Evil Death Roll contained Robot Stop teases. Trapdoor was played for the first time known since 2016-09-09. (259 show gap) The Dripping Tap was introduced as a song about a tap that won’t stop dripping. Smoke & Mirrors was played over the PA as the setbreak music. Hot Wax was played for the first time since 2018-06-20. (114 show gap) Gaia featured a drum solo by Cavs. Rattlesnake contained Boogieman Sam quotes and featured another Cavs drum solo, during which the band destroyed the clock tower presiding over the stage and passed out the pieces into the crowd. The on-stage carnage appears to have extended to some of the band’s equipment, as the final portion of Rattlesnake was performed with Joey playing the FMB and Stu singing with no instrument. |

This show was part of the 2022 Coachella Festival, held at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio, CA. The band played their set in spite of heavy winds and audio issues (including hearing Harry Styles in their in-ear monitors, which Joey stated was fine with him but not Stu), which may have prompted Joey’s exclamation at the start of the show. Self-Immolate was introduced as a song about “lighting yourself on fire and running like a fucking nutbag.” Gaia was introduced as a song about “all the funky weather going on”, then as a song about drones followed by a statement by Stu about how much he loves drones and technology in general, and featured a drum solo by Cavs. Gamma Knife was introduced as a song about shanks. |

Before Blame It On the Weather, Stu said they would play Vegemite next, but then clarified he was joking. After Blame It On The Weather, Stu tells a story of Joey sleepwalking and relieving himself on his new modular keyboard. Leading Joey to joke his new DJ name was Urine Man. Garden Goblin was dedicated to Urine Man. There was technical difficulty during which Stu discussed his accent. After Garden Goblin, Joey says the song is about Cook’s dog, which Cook interjects, “yeah I miss him!” Open Water was introduced as "one of our many songs about water". Float Along - Fill Your Lungs contained a metal jam.

An I In Heaven? was teased prior to Magenta Mountain. The intro to O.N.E. contained Straws in the Wind teases. The River contained Wah Wah teases and quotes throughout, as well as Crumbling Castle teases. The Land Before Timeland was played over the PA as the setbreak music, which incidentally served as the “debut” for the studio track. Rattlesnake contained teases and quotes from O.N.E., Automation, Honey, and Minimum Brain Size, and teases of Sleep Drifter. Honey contained teases of Sleep Drifter and Billabong Valley. The Reticent Raconteur through The Balrog featured Leah Senior (introduced as “The Balrog” and “the best singer”) providing the narration. Ambrose quoted “Happy Birthday, Lisa” (The Simpsons) while referencing Joey’s “Australian birthday” prior to The Grim Reaper. The Grim Reaper was then introduced as “some weird-ass Satanic rap”. Venusian 2 and Am I in Heaven? were on the printed setlist but were replaced with Planet B due to time constraints.
This show was released through the Official Bootlegger program as part of Live at Red Rocks ‘22.

Evil Death Roll did not include the Invisible Face section and instead featured a Hypertension-esque jam (see below). The intro to Ambergris featured musical banter regarding a “big-ass beer”. Leah Senior was shouted out prior to Crumbling Castle.
KGLW.net Staff Notes: There was a good deal of discussion about whether the jam in Evil Death Roll constituted a Hypertension tease or was merely suggesting a variation on Hypertension through Stu’s playing. We decided that this example did not qualify as a “tease”, “quote”, or full “jam.” Rather than expand our lexicon to include “motif” or “theme,” we opted to simply mention and qualify it in the setlist notes.

The jam out of Shanghai featured alternate, improvised lyrics from Stu: “Let’s get real high and eat apple pie.” Evil Death Roll contained Shanghai, Mars for the Rich, and Hypertension teases.
KGLW.Net Staff Notes: This may be the first time the voice of Han-Tyumi was run by Jason Galea offstage. Additional Han-Tyumi narration not previously played live may have been added to this version. This show featured the debut of Change. Plastic Boogie was played for the first time since June 5, 2022 (74 show gap). Prior to The Garden Goblin Joey teased the commercial theme for Bunnings Warehouse, an Australian home improvement store. The Garden Goblin was then introduced by Cookie as a song about the time his dog snuck into a Bunnings. The Dripping Tap contained Cellophane teases. Hot Wax was on the printed setlist but was not played. Hot Water and Hypertension were on the printed setlist after The Garden Goblin but were moved up to keep the band’s synth equipment out of the rain. This show was released through the Official Bootlegger program as part of Live in Chicago '23.
KGLW.net staff note: There was much internal discussion as to a potential tease of the intro to Gondii in Change. The arrangement of instruments and structure of Change has been modified compared with the studio version. Though it resembles a tease of Gondii, we believe more live instances need to he heard to determine if this is intentional, or just an accentuation of the existing relationship between the songs.

Sense proper contained Slow Jam 1 quotes and closed with quotes of “Incredible” (M Beat) and “Welcome to the Jungle” (Guns N’ Roses). The Grim Reaper contained Torture Chamber quotes and “Intergalactic” (Beastie Boys) quotes. Shanghai featured the “grow wings and fly” jam. Ambergris was introduced as a song about Free Willy.
