KGLW.net Staff Notes: The setlist may be incomplete. The So Many Things music blog covering Melbourne reported that King Gizzard would be playing their new album Float Along - Fill Your Lungs in its entirely at 4 shows in August. Most of the songs were confirmed by the setlist photo that consisted of the 8 Float Along - Fill Your Lungs songs plus three more that looked to be written in by the lucky fan. This makes sense since everything after the album debut songs was audience requests. Additional reviews for this show mention some other audience requests. If anyone has any additional information about this show or, ideally, a complete or conclusive recording please contact KGLW.net staff at [email protected].

This show was part of a Brooklyn Showcase put on by Ladygunn and Burger Records including ONWE, Juniper Rising, Bad Girlfriend and Fletcher C. Johnson. King Gizzard was the final band to perform.
KGLW.net Staff Notes: The setlist is likely incomplete. The Mind Fuzz Suite, The Wholly Ghost and Head On/Pill were confirmed based on audio/video. Cut Throat Boogie is assumed to be played due to Stu saying "Cut Throat" and Ambrose moving to the front of the stage following The Wholly Ghost. The third show of the festival for the band was a Secret Set at The Crow's Nest Stage. Willoughby's Beach was played for the first time known since 2014-03-27. (115 show gap) and Dead-Beat was played for the first time known since 2014-06-14. (84 show gap). During the show, the power went out. During this, the crowd began to chant "drum solo", so Eric and Cavs performed a solo until the power went back on. Stressin' was performed by Stu solo.
KGLW.net Staff Notes: The setlist is likely incomplete. The Mind Fuzz suite, Willoughby's Beach, the drum solo, Stressin', Robot Stop, and Dead-Beat are confirmed based on the audio/video. Stressin' in full was reported to have been performed by Stu himself, but there is no way to tell if the video contains the end or a separate clip. This show was billed as Return of the Curse of Timeland (a rescheduling of their cancelled 2021 New Year's Eve Timeland Festival) and featured the debuts of Magenta Mountain, The Garden Goblin, The Dripping Tap, and Soy-Protein Munt Machine. Timeland was played over the PA as the pre-show music. A model of London’s Big Ben clock tower, approximately 20 ft (6 m) tall, with the words “Time is Ephemeral” and “Music is Ephemeral” written on the clock’s face was erected in the back right corner of the stage. The clock hands ran forward at an accelerated pace throughout the show. Am I in Heaven? contained Rattlesnake teases and Boogieman Sam quotes/teases. Evil Death Roll contained Robot Stop teases. Trapdoor was played for the first time known since 2016-09-09. (259 show gap) The Dripping Tap was introduced as a song about a tap that won’t stop dripping. Smoke & Mirrors was played over the PA as the setbreak music. Hot Wax was played for the first time since 2018-06-20. (114 show gap) Gaia featured a drum solo by Cavs. Rattlesnake contained Boogieman Sam quotes and featured another Cavs drum solo, during which the band destroyed the clock tower presiding over the stage and passed out the pieces into the crowd. The on-stage carnage appears to have extended to some of the band’s equipment, as the final portion of Rattlesnake was performed with Joey playing the FMB and Stu singing with no instrument. |

Vomit Coffin featured the now-infamous “Amby Snot Rocket”. Blame It on the Weather was humorously announced as the “complete opposite style of music” to the show-opening Murder of the Universe suite. Work This Time featured a guitar solo. Cut Throat Boogie was announced as a song about Ambrose getting stabbed in the neck with a broken bottle. Wah Wah began with the intro to The River and subsequently featured The River quotes and teases, as well as a jam. Sadie Sorceress featured an additional verse from The Grim Reaper played over the music to Sadie Sorceress. Joey requested the cameraperson zoom in to his face as close as possible during the intro to Self-Immolate and introduced Cavs as “John Henry Bonham”, followed by a drum solo and a “Moby Dick” (Led Zeppelin) tease, plus an additional brief drum solo and “Moby Dick” tease at the end of the song. Before Her and I (Slow Jam 2), the weather was discussed and the band’s ignorance regarding Fahrenheit to Celsius conversions was revealed. The song itself featured a Flamethrower jam, Slow Jam 1 and Magma teases, and a brief Cut Throat Boogie jam. Hot Wax was dedicated to one of the band's sound engineers, Joe Santarpia. Timeland was played over the PA as the setbreak music. Head On/Pill opened with “The Star-Spangled Banner” intro, contained Hypertension teases and a Witchcraft tease, and was unfinished leading into Am I in Heaven?. Venusian 1 closed with a Cavs drum solo which led into Venusian 2. Ambrose introduced Billabong Valley as being about a bushranger and is interrupted by Joey calling him “mad-cunt Morgan”. Let Me Mend the Past was announced as a song about Ambrose’s somewhat troubled upbringing and was dedicated to Edith, Ambrose’s sister. Alter Me III and Altered Beast IV were performed with Leah Senior providing the narration. Float Along - Fill Your Lungs contained a metal jam. Tetrachromacy and Hypertension were on the printed setlist but cut due to time constraints.

After a smooth transition out of Ice V, Amby’s harmonica wail throws us into the Cut Throat Boogie. The band plays the first couple of verses straight, which is a stomping good time as always, but the real kicker is the appended blues jam. Amby once again takes the lead with a killer harmonica solo, before the band starts dishing out a dynamic plethora of teases of Flight b741 material, including repeated Sad Pilot riffs, as well as the never-before heard Rats in the Sky, Raw Feel and Field of Vision. |
